Being fit and healthy in simple terms means taking good care of yourself. Besides, a healthy mind resides only in a healthy body, meaning being happy is directly related to boosting your mental strength and health so that happiness can be considered as one of many results of a healthy and active lifestyle. However, a happy mind is not the only benefit of keeping healthy and active. Staying active will improve both your physical appearance, and your ability to perform tasks that you may now struggle with, leading you into a stress-free lifestyle and allowing you to maintain happy moods and high energy levels with no stress at all. Staying fit requires consistency, but should always be prioritised by each individual due to the benefits largely outweighing the non-existent drawbacks.
Generally, a proper diet consists of eating a variety of different foods, which include; eating green and fresh vegetables, fruits, dairy, proteins, vitamins and minerals essential for a human’s lifestyle. Consumption of sugary and fatty foods, in addition to alcohol intake, is not forbidden, however, should be limited. The correct amount of sleep, between 7-9 hours, is essential for you to function at your best. Water is also a must! Your body is made of 60% water, so the consumption of water is crucial for vital bodily functions such as digestion, circulation, and maintaining bodily temperature.
Finally, find some exercise you enjoy, you are much more likely to stick to it if you do! It does not have to be vigorous, instead keep it consistent, and choose to exercise with friends or groups where possible to keep yourself encouraged and motivated.
