Gardening Goodness: March
Now that we are starting to say goodbye to the winter months and the days are beginning to get warmer (touch wood), we can start to make some real progress on our gardens. That being said, your garden to-do list can be a little overwhelming.
The weather has taken its toll and things are looking a little messy. In this situation, it’s often best to clear the mind and get a fresh start before tackling all the spring garden duties. That’s why The Directory Group has made your to-do list for you, to help your garden ‘spring clean’ be as effective as possible before things get serious:
1. Wash your pots
2. Restock bird food
3. Trim hedges ready for bird nesting
4. De-weed – it’s easier to remove weeds while they’re still young
5. Prune, prune & more prune
6. Remove plant debris to keep things tidy
7. Organise this year’s seeds by sowing date – you’ll be thankful for this later!
8. Fertilise the beds ready for the upcoming growing season
9. Deadhead away
10. Put supports in for when things start to grow.
