Light up a Life and remember someone special this Christmas
For those who have experienced the loss of a loved one, you are warmly invited join Rowans Hospice Charity at their annual Lake of Lights service at Canoe Lake, Southsea on Sunday 19, December 2021 from 17.00 – 19.00.
The Lake of Lights service is an opportunity for everyone in the community who has lost someone special, whether or not they have been cared for by the Rowans Hospice, to come together and remember their loved one.
Guests are invited to make a donation for a candle which will then be floated on Canoe Lake. Spinnaker Chorus Portsmouth will sing an array of songs as guests arrive and when they are leaving. A short service of remembrance will take place next to the Lake at 17.45 hours, which will include readings and carols sung by local community choirs and accompanied by Portsmouth Royal British Legion Victory Band. The end of the service will be marked by a fountain firework and a moment of quiet reflection.
Carol Milner, Director of Income Generation said, “This is a beautiful and poignant in-memory service to honour and remember that special someone you have lost. By making your dedication, you will be honouring the memory of your loved one, as well as supporting those people who are affected by a life limiting illness in Portsmouth and South East Hampshire.
If you are unable to attend the service, but would like to make a donation and dedicate a
candle in memory of your loved one, please visit;
