A celebration of Petersfield Physic Garden - 35th Anniversary 21 - 22 June 2025
Petersfield Physic Garden is to celebrate its 35th anniversary with a whole weekend of events in late June. It is 35 years since the official opening of The Physic Garden in 1990 and we invite the town to help us celebrate!
Events will start at 10.30am on Saturday 21st June with an official opening hosted by well-known Gardener's Queston Time personality, Pippa Greenwood.
There will be an exhibition about the creation of the garden and special activities for families. Our volunteer gardeners will be on hand to guide you around the garden, and, on Sunday 22 June, there will be an opportunity for residents to fill their own borders from the Grand Plant Sale at the garden.
Frequently referred to as 'The Psychic Garden', 'The Physics Garden', even the cut-through to the car-park, the tranquil space is mainly known as Petersfield's best-kept secret. This is a private garden that is open to the public, re-created in the style of a medieval medicinal garden, and is almost entirely run by volunteers. This little gem was bequeathed to the town by Major John Bowen in 1988. It opened as Petersfield Physic Garden in 1990.
